Islanders vs Capitals Pick: Thursday January 28th
Islanders vs Capitals Pick: Thursday January 28th: The Islanders were out-hustled by an undermanned Capitals squad in their 3-2 loss on Tuesday and it’s simply unacceptable. Barry Trotz is not going to sit back and allow that to happen. There will be consequences. This team has the Capitals number when Ovy, Kuznetzov, Orlov, and Wilson are in the lineup. They love being the underdog. Well, with those guys out, they are the moneyline favorites and have to take advantage of it.
The Islanders have to play with more desperation and I expect them to. Anthony Beauvillier is day-to-day and he is been missed from this lineup. Vitek Vanecek has looked excellent and this Capitals squad missing their best players due to Covid protocols is playing with a lot of hustle. Nicholas Backstrom and John Carlson keep this power play very dangerous. If the Caps can bag another win without all these key players in their 4th game without them, then I will accept the loss.
