Golden Knights vs Sharks Pick: Friday, Mar. 5th
Golden Knights vs Sharks Pick: Friday, Mar. 5th: Vegas taught the naysayers like me that they were still the class of this division with a sweep of the upstart Wild. They beat them 5-4 in overtime on Monday and then 5-1 on Wednesday. They have every right to be big road favorites here. After scoring 10 goals going 2-2 over 4 games, they scored 10 goals in 2 games vs the Wild. There is a very real rivalry between these 2 teams even if the Sharks are no longer a good hockey team. In their 5-1 dominant win over the Wild on Wednesday Mark Stone assisted on all 5 goals. He is rolling and taking his linemates Chandler Stephenson and Max Pacioretty with him. They have reunited Jonathan Marchessault, William Karlsson, and Reilly Smith, and those 3 are ranked as the 4th best 2nd line in the league. I trust the Knights will be able to tickle the twine against these sad-sack Sharks.

After scoring 6 goals in back-to-back games, the Sharks were shut down in a 4-0 loss at home to the Avalanche on Wednesday. The Sharks always seem to play the Knights hard. Erik Karlsson is back from injury and it has to spark this Power play. The Sharks score 2.75 goals per game and allow 3.80. Their goaltending is awful and their offense does enough to cash us overs. Losing Tomas Hertl to a positive Covid test hurts this team’s offense but they still have Logan Couture, Evander Kane, and Timo Meier. Brent Burns and Erik Karlsson on the back end are capable of providing the needed offense to cash us this over 6.
