NBA Playoff Series Game 5: Boston Celtics vs Toronto Raptors pick

The Celtics almost had a 3-0 lead in this series, but in a blink of an eye, it is now 2-2 heading into game 5. The Boston Celtics took the first two games of the series and it looked like they were going to win game 3 as well but Toronto stole game 3 with a buzzer-beater to win the game. Toronto came out strong in game 4 and won that game as well 100-93 and the series is now tied at 2 games apiece. The winner of this game has a great chance of winning the series, but winning this game is not going to be easy. It is going to come down to defense and that’s while I’ll be focusing on the UNDER in this game so let’s get right to it.
All four of the games in this series have gone UNDER the total and with this series being tied right now 2-2, both defenses will need to step up again which will cause this game to be another low scoring game. Toronto is not going to win this game in a shootout and they know that. Just like Boston knows they can’t win in a shootout. That’s why both teams will be depending on their defense.

The Toronto Raptors are the #1 defense in the league and they show that every game and nothing changes today. They are ranked number 1 in points against per game on defense. They are ranked #2 at field goal percentage against per game on defense and they are ranked #1 in 3 point percentage against per game on defense so it’s not going to be easy for Boston to score just like it hasn’t been easy for them to score in the first 3 games.
On the other side of the ball, we have the Boston Celtics. They are coming into game 5 even more pissed off then they did in game 4. Boston didn’t win game 3 and take a demanding 3-0 because they blew it at the end. Then they went into game 4 and let that game get away as well and now the series is tied at 2. Their defense played great last game and has been all series, but they fell a little short in game 4.
Boston’s defense is ranked #2 when it comes to points against per game and it is showing. Toronto averages 112 points per game, but in the first four games, Toronto was held to 94 points, 99 points, 104, and 100. Boston knows if they want to win this game, they can’t let up more then 100 points and Jason Tatum and company are going to give it their all to make sure they do that. Celtics defense guards the 3 point line very well as well.
The Raptors shot 38.6% from 3 in game 4 and they shot 32.5% from 3 in game 3 and they shot 27.5% from 3 in the 2nd game and 25% in game 1. Celtics defense is ranked #2 when it comes to 3 point percentage against them and it’s been showing. The Raptors are not getting all of their open looks like they are used to and the pressure is getting to them just like I mentioned in game 4 and I look for that to continue today.
We also have RLM (reverse line movement) on this line and I love to follow that factor. The total for this game opened up at 212.5. The public is hammering the OVER, yet the line has dropped a half point to 212. Well if the public loves the OVER at a 212.5, why would Vegas make the line even better for them at 212?
