Once again, the conference commands some of the Friday night spotlight with this clash of 0-1 teams. And as the case is with all three contests on our list, we’ve got a double-digit spread to decipher between the Minnesota Golden Gophers and Maryland Terrapins. Climbing since first being offered at -17½, the Gophers are favored by as many as 2o points, with 61 as the current total at Bet365.

Losing to Michigan last week as a 3-point underdog wasn’t the issue for PJ Fleck and Minnesota. Losing big to the Wolverines is a concern, however, especially since the Golden Gophers were without several key starters and could be without them again. The right side of the O-Line, Daniel Faalele and Curtis Dunlap, missed the Michigan game and are once again questionable this week, as are kicker Michael Lantz and punter Mark Crawford.

Maryland just might prove to be the dregs of the Big Ten this season, meaning Mike Locksley’s second season at the helm in College Park isn’t going to be any fun. Lined as 2-TD underdogs at Northwestern, the Terrapins were routed in a 43-3 final. Alabama transfer Taulia Tagovailoa made a horrible first impression at quarterback with three interceptions, and eventually was replaced by Lance LeGendre.
I’ll be playing the ‘under’ in this one, unable to lay this many on Minnesota even against a weak Maryland team.
