Colorado State vs Boise State Pick: College Football Week 11
Colorado State vs Boise State Pick – College Football Week 11: It was supposed to be BYU’s biggest test of the season, and Boise State let the Cougars pass that test with ease. Now the Broncos need to quickly put that loss in the rearview mirror and take care of business Thursday night when the Colorado State Rams come to town.
The Smurf Turf at Albertson’s Stadium in Boise is where it all takes place, FS1 providing the telecast beginning at 8 p.m. (ET). FanDuel has the Broncos -14½ and -650 on the Moneyline, with the takeback on the Rams at +450. All three Boise State games this season have topped the totals, and maintaining that perfect record means skipping above 61½.
Match-Up and Trends
Colorado State was at home in Fort Collins last Thursday and picked up its first win for new head coach Steve Addazio with a 34-24 win over Wyoming. The Rams jumped out to a 14-0 lead in the opening quarter, the first score on a Pick-6, and pulled off the mild upset as 3-point home ‘dogs. Colorado State didn’t exactly tear things up offensively but managed to grab the win thanks to three Wyoming turnovers.
Bryan Harsin’s Broncos did a good job early slowing Zach Wilson and the high-octane BYU offense, but couldn’t keep it going in the second half when the Cougars scored 35 points in the 51-17 final. Boise State didn’t have 1st-string quarterback Hank Bachmeier due to a leg injury and lost backup Jack Sears early to a concussion. Both are listed as questionable for Thursday night, leaving freshman Cade Fennegan as the next man up under center for the Broncos.
Measure of Expectation
Colorado State vs Boise State Pick
It’s the 10th time the Rams and Broncos have met on the gridiron, and Boise State has won all nine of the previous clashes. Most of the results haven’t even been close, but Colorado State did keep things inside a similar spread last season in Fort Collins, where BSU prevailed, 31-24. Cloudy and cold is the forecast, with some snow expected in Boise at some point Thursday evening. The Broncos are also expected to be without tailback George Holani (leg) for a second consecutive week, and my college football pick will be top take Colorado State and the 14½.
