Paths To Victory

While key race states like Arizona,  Georgia and North Carolina are still too close to call. Former Vice President Joe Biden picked up a sizable margin in Pennsylvania on Saturday afternoon, forcing the decisions desks within the major media outlets to call the election for Joe Biden. With Biden taking Pennsylvania, President Trump has no more path to 270 votes. Arizona, Georgia and North Carolina could all be turned to red states, and it would still not give Trump enough electoral votes to get to 270.

Electoral College Odds Projections

Projection

via 270ToWin

Underdogs: Based on the Odds projections, Joe Biden was projected going into the election on Tuesday morning to reach the 270 threshold, and win by a tally of 279-259. However, things changed throughout the week. Trump started the election week off on a roll, and was a heavy -600 favorite to win the election headed into Wednesday morning. However, the tide began to shift in states like Arizona, Wisconsin, Michigan, Pennsylvania and Georgia. Biden cashed as an underdog in Georgia, reaching as high as +300 at points during the first 24hrs of election results. While Biden began the week as a resounding favorite in states like PA and AZ. He had to rally back from a deep deficit created by in person ballots being counted first. As the week went on, the live betting odds swayed back heavily towards Biden, and the projection of 279 became very real as of Saturday afternoon. However, with all things considered, it looks like Biden and the Democrats will pass 279, and finish this election with 306 electoral college votes.

Election Results and Odds by State

Arizona, Georgia, Alaska and North Carolina all remain too close to call. When odds were taken off the board on Friday, Arizona and Georgia were heavily favored to turn blue. While North Carolina was just as favored to stay red.

Although all the major American media outlets, as well as oddsmakers around the world have declared Joe Biden the President-Elect. Current President Donald Trump is attempting to take allegations of ballot fraud to the highest courts in the land, to try to overturn the election results. This is important to bettors, because some bookmakers graded their bets based on media projections, while other offshore markets don’t grade the bet as a win or loss until the election is fully complete, and endorsed by the electoral college on December 14th. It could be a rocky road for bettors who are going to have to wait until this process to play out.
