Dallas offensively has not been good since starting quarterback Dak Prescott was injured in week five. In week six against Arizona, they averaged a mediocre 4.1 yards per play and 4.9 yards per pass attempt. Their only touchdown came in garbage time when trailing 31-3. Last week against Washington, back-up quarterback Andy Dalton was injured in the third quarter, and third-string quarterback Ben DiNucci was forced into action. In three possessions, DiNucci went 2/3 for 39 yards and took 3 sacks. Dalton is in concussion protocol and is being listed as questionable. It might not matter who plays quarterback because the offensive line has been decimated with injuries. Only one of the original starting five linemen from week one for the Cowboys played last week. They are expected to have guard Zack Martin back, which should help their offensive line. If Dallas could ever give their quarterback enough time to throw, they have many elite receivers.
Dallas Cowboys vs Philadelphia Eagles: 2020 Betting Trends
Team | Record | ML Profit (Units) | ATS | O/U |
---|---|---|---|---|
Dallas Cowboys | 2-5 | -4.07u | 0-7 | 4-3 |
Philadelphia Eagles | 2-4-1 | -0.74u | 2-5 | 4-3 |
Philadelphia offensively has been hit just as hard as Dallas. They are missing their top two tight ends, 2/5’s of their offensive line with tackle Lane Johnson being in and out of the lineup in recent weeks and is listed as questionable. Their skill position talent has also been decimated, with 2020 first-round pick wide receiver Jalen Reagor being lost to injury. Number one wide receiver DeSean Jackson returned from injury last week and got re-injured and will not play. Receiver Alshon Jeffery and lead running back Miles Sanders both missed last week’s game, and both are listed as questionable this week. Despite all these injuries, Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz threw for 359 yards last week and rallied the team from 11 down in the fourth quarter to win. Dallas has been a step down in defensive class for all teams; thus, Philadelphia should have some success moving the football despite all the injuries.
Dallas Cowboys vs Philadelphia Eagles Pick:
Dallas is currently unbackable with all their current issues and being 0-7 ATS. That said, laying more than a touchdown with a 2 win Philadelphia team in a division game is hardly appealing. Dallas offensively has been inept without Dak Prescott and multiple starters on the offensive line, thus playing their first two ‘unders’ since week one. Philadelphia offensively is just as banged-up; thus, ‘under’ 43.5 would be my lean.
